For today I did something familiar to what I did last class, but this time by subject was a small cute little cactus that I have. The cameras preformed differently todau, which is obviously expected, so these are the photos from today.

Canon EOS M50

1/160, F5.0, 0 light change, ISO 1600

iPhone XS Max

1/60, F1.8, 0 light change, ISO 100

Just like before these two photos are not tweaked at all and are just what the camera can do by itself. I think because the of the foucus point on the camera, I actually like the phone picture better. To me the camera did a netter job at light balance but the phone picture is clearer because the whole cactus is in focus, not just a part of it.

Just like before, the Canon picture does a better job at blancing the light and shadows, but in this case I like the phone picture better. I would have prefered the shadowing like the other picture, but in this case the clarity of the photo is why I prefer it.

The yellow hue isn't as apparent as the other day, so for now it really isnt anything that I found bothersome.

1/200, F5.6, -1.5 light change, ISO 1600

1/60, F1.8, -1.51 light change, ISO 100

The two photos that are here are the ones where I was controlling the settings. In this the yellow is more apparent on the phone side but I'm beginning to think that that will just be how it always will be. Other than the yellow, I think it is a pretty nice photo. The black isn't quite as deep and the white isn't quote as white as the Canon side but I do that that it is a relatively nice photo.

Because the phone didn't choose one spot to focus on, the whole cactus is in focus. On the Canon settled in on the rock, and although it give a nice layering type of vibe, the whole cactus isn't as clean. I really like the shadow on this photo however, and I think it did a good job at capturing the blackest of black and whitest of whites.

1/60, F6.3, 0 light change, ISO 1600

1/60, F1.8, 0 light change, ISO 80

This is the last of the comparisons that I did today, and it was zoom on each of the camera. The lens that happened to be on my camera for this shoot only goes to 45mm, and the phone goes to 10x. As one can very easily tell, there is a large different between how far they can zoom in, but I'm not sure if the bigger zoom is necessarily worth it.

While the zoom is a lot bigger, the phone camera quality drops drastically but the camera doesn't. Different lenses will allow for further zooming capabilities as well, but I like how the graphics and stuff doesn't drop. I personally think that having better photo quality is more important then a strong zoom, but opinions will vary depending on the person.
