Photography 2 Proposal

For this next semester I would like to try out food photography. I did it for one prompt last semester, and I really enjoyed it. The arrangement of the food, picking out which silverware and plates or bowls to go with it, and then picking a backdrop were all very fun to do and put together, so I would like to explore this subject deeper. I already have a few ideas of shoots that I could do, but I think for this type of topic finding pictures I really enjoy and then trying to recreate them could also be fun. I’ve also watched some of those videos online that are like the “hacks” for commercial food photography, so maybe I will try to incorporate that as well.
My last proposal was more based on kind of research/learning about the two different cameras that I could use, so I think this one will be more about taking pictures. That being said, I’m not going to take pictures just to get a certain number. I want to take a bunch of pictures, but having them be different from each other while still using the same setup. If that doesn’t make sense, I basically want to take a bunch of pictures of the same props but in different positions and at different angles.
For each class, I will also have a brief summary of what I did that day, and maybe some things about what I learned or that I found challenging. It definitely will not be as long as the last proposal write ups were, but I still want to write about and include some written work for each class period’s photos.
Time wise, I think I want to do this Proposal for about eight weeks but maybe slightly less. From the little bit that I did last semester, I found it very fun so staying with it for a little while would be nice. If I started this Tuesday January 11th, 2021, I can say for sure I’ll be done by Thursday March 5th, 2021. That is basically two months out and I think that will give me enough time to fully get into this topic as well as go through any and all of the ideas that I would like to try out.
