Today was my first day working on my new proposal and I think it went fairly well. I took pictures of water dropping into more water to get a frozen picture of the water beads and while I did accomplish that, I have to figure out how to make the backdrop look nice. I think maybe the pictures that you find on line of water droplet photography might be edited because I don't know how to get the angles that I see online without having a semi ugly backdrop. I had a sheet setup and everything behind it, but it still looked a little weird.
I think because we don't have much time left I will focus on trying to get the pictures instead perfecting the backdrop.
I used outside lighting for this because I though my little lamp setup wouldn't be strong enough, and I definitely think the sun provided adequate light.

For today I took pictures of milk and cereal and cereal in milk. The concept was pretty sound in my head and I do think the pictures ended up looking pretty good, but I underestimated how long the cereal would stay good and they ended up sogging super fast. It might have been the kind I was using too, because the cereal I found was this super old stuff that had long since expired. It may have lasted longer in the milk had it been fresh, but I didn't want to waste that much cereal. The milk though I did have to waste because it was either milk or watering down glue and I thought the milk was a better option. I did have to waste quite a bit but the milk I chose at the store was the closest to expiring so I don't know if that makes it any better.
For the pictures themselves, I got some nice photos of the cereal falling but what I ended up liking the most was the milk splashing out. I used the sogged up cereal for that because it was the heaviest and it kind of got everywhere. It was kind of like last time where the scenery around the photo wasn't the best but the actual photo was okay.

For today I took pictures of potato chips, which was also the only thing that wasn't a liquid. It didn't splash everywhere which was nice but the problem with it is it fell extremely fast because it was heavy I guess. They didn't seem that heavy when I was just holding them but it's different when it's falling through the air I suppose. I was fun though because I got to toss the chips around and hope I got a good shot.
It wasn't extremely sunny out which ended up being okay, but it was pretty windy out and it messed up my backdrop and chips. This was the last thing I am doing for my proposal, but I might try and take more pictures like this in the future because I do enjoy it.
