Proposal #1 - Fish Photography
This is my final product for my first proposal, Betta Fish Photography! I really enjoyed this because not only was it a little bit challenging, it was also very fun. During this process, I ran into multiple problems that I had to work through, and I also got an even better understanding of how the camera settings work together because I had to mess with them constantly in order to get the lighting and focus that I liked the best.
For this project, the reference photos and the photos that I liked the best were the ones with the dark, if not black, background, because it made the vibrancy of the fish really pop. In order to get that, I first tried starting out with a black background and black gravel, but I later found that I liked the result better if I just edited the photos onto a black background.
In total, taking the pictures was the longest process, but the editing part was a bit more tedious than I had initially thought it to be. It took quite a while to get the fish cut out because I wanted it to be as perfect as possible, and then when I placed it onto a black background, it just looked a little strange. What I ended up doing to fix that, however, was turning down the transparency to quite low and the softness all the way up and then running the eraser tool over the outer bit of the fish. I think the part that I didn't like was how sudden the color of the fish was compared to the black of the background, so by taking small bits out I basically blended the two layer together. Either way, I really enjoy how these came out and I enjoyed the process.
